Mrs. Sue Nelson Ward, age 59 of Harriman, with her family by her side, slipped the bonds of this earth and began enjoying her new life in Glory on Thursday May 16, 2013. Her heartbreak, fears and pain are gone forever. We can only imagine her soul's joy as she took her earthly fathers hand and walked with him to meet God. She was a member of Emory Heights Baptist Church and was Past Worthy Matron of Laurel Chapter 22 Order of the Eastern Star. In her lifetime she was a restaurant owner, an avid arts and crafts enthusiast and a fun loving prankster. But her greatest titles were wife, mother and Nana.
She was preceded in death by her father: Clifford Nelson. Father-in-law: Shorty Ward. And nephew: Jimmy Bolden.
She went to help prepare a place for the rest of us: her husband, Terry Ward. Her son and daughter-in-law: Trampus and Jill Ward. Her daughter and son-in-law: Tabitha and Roger Breeden. Her grandchildren: Mason and McKenzie Breeden and Brantley Diggs. Her mother: Lorene Nelson. Her mother-in-law: Betty Ward. Her sisters and brothers-in-law: Joanne and Leroy Crowe, Sharon and Owen Massengill and Janie "Weazie" Webster. A brother-in-law and sister-in-law: James "Ricky" and Janie Ward. Along with several nieces, nephews and a host of special friends and extended family.
The family will receive friends Sunday May 19, 2013 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at Davis Funeral Home, Harriman. Eastern Star and funeral services will follow at 4:00 PM with Bro. Wayne Nelson, Bro. John Edwards and Bro. Charles Webb officiating. Interment will follow in Emory Heights Cemetery.
