William D. "Bill" Summers

Mr. William D. "Bill" Summers, age 90 of the Pine Orchard community in Oakdale, passed away Sunday April 19, 2015 at the home of his son in Rockwood with his family by his side. He was a member of Pine Orchard Baptist Church. He was also a member of Rockwood Lodge #403 F&AM and was a 32˚ Scottish Rite Mason. Bill was a veteran of the United States Army and served in the Pacific Theater during WWII. He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years: Mona Kirk Summers. He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law: Doug and Pat Summers of Rockwood and Brad and Jeannine Summers of Macon, GA. Two granddaughters: Christy Roberts of Oakdale and Jessica Summers of Kingston. One great grandson: Jacob Roberts. One sister: Louise Powell of Ohio. And a host of nieces, nephews and other family, friends and loved ones. Family and friends will meet at 1:00 PM Tuesday April 21, 2015 in Pine Orchard Cemetery in Oakdale for a Masonic graveside service. Military honors will follow and be provided by the American Legion Post 149 Honor Guard.
