Mr. William Stuart Mitchell, born December 20, 1963 to Dollie and Leon Mitchell. He served our country as a 63B Light Wheel Vehicle Mechanic in the U.S Army. He joined the Army in 1984 and completed basic training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina followed by Advanced Individual Training (AIT) at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. His first permanent party assignment was at Fort Stewart, Georgia followed by an overseas assignment to Youngstown Garrison in Seoul, South Korea in May 1987. His final assignment was at Fort Lewis, Washington where he was deployed to California to help battle devastating wildfires. Bill left the Army after his assignment to Fort Lewis to pursue his civilian career.
He is survived by his five children: Ashley, Jefferey, Monica, Katie, and Olivia.
Grandchildren: Alana, Isaiah, Brayson, Anna, Riley, Elliot, and Zoey.
Brothers: Doug and James Mitchell.
Sister: Susanna Mitchell.
Along with many other friends and family.
He passed away August 9, 2024. He loved trucks and driving. He enjoyed building model trucks and restoring antiques. He was a music and dog lover. He also loved collecting antiques and going to car shows.
A graveside services will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Harriman City Cemetery.
