Mr. Timothy A. Bailes, age 59 of Harriman passed away Tuesday February 8, 2011 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville. He was of the Baptist faith. An electrician by trade, Tim was decorated veteran of the Viet Nam War. He was a four time Commander of the V.F.W. Post #6598 in Harriman, a member of East Fork Lodge #460 F&AM in Dyllis and a member of the Eagle's Lodge. Tim was also a state officer with the In Country Motorcycle Club. Tim was an honorable man who not only served his country, but also helped the veteran's of Roane County. His loyalty and dedication to the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the veterans community will be sadly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents: Homer and Collene Bailes. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years: Barbara Bailes. Three brothers and sisters-in-law: Doug and Margaret Bailes, Keith and Chris Bailes, Kyle and Deloria Bailes. Two sisters: Cindy Bailes and Melody Knight. Two brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law: Carl and Vickie Burchfield and Gary Colley and his family. One step-daughter: Annette Trail. One step-son: Jimmy Trail, II. Two grandsons, one granddaughter, one great grandson and a host of other family, friends and loved ones. The family will receive friends Sunday February 13, 2011 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Davis Funeral Home, Harriman. Funeral services will follow at 6:00 PM with Rev. Leonard Wyrick officiating. Graveside services with will be Monday February 14, 2011 at 1:30 PM in the Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, 5901 Lyons View Drive, Knoxville with full military honors provided by the Volunteer State Veterans Honor Guard and the National Guard. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, at any SunTrust Bank location to: The Tim Bailes Memorial Fund, c/o Fred Bender and Gary Laymance.
