Thelma Jean Brown - Byrd

Mrs. Thelma Jean Delius Brown Byrd, age 95 of Oakdale, passed away Sunday September 28, 2014 at Harriman Care & Rehabilitation Center. She was a member of Boswell Chapel Baptist Church and also attended the 1st Baptist Church of Oakdale for many years. She was preceded in death by two husbands: Emett Brown and Robert H. Byrd. Her parents: Charles and Daisy Morgan Delius. Six brothers: Charles, Bill, James, Paul, Ben and Zane. Six sisters: Blanch, Alberta, Lorene, Inez, Dorcas and Mae. She is survived by two step-sons: Robert K. and Dwight T. Byd. Three step-daughters: Carol Couliette, Linda Womack, Lauren Shelton and their children whom Thelma loved and considered her grandchildren. She is also survived by two loving nieces: Verna Webb and her husband Larry and Melissa Stewart as well as numerous other nieces and nephews and many special friends and loved ones. The family would like to say a special thank you to Harriman Care & Rehabilitation Center and to Caris Hospice. The family will receive friends Wednesday October 1, 2014 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Davis Funeral Home, Wartburg. Graveside services will follow in Crab Orchard Cemetery in Oakdale with Rev. Charles Kelly officiating.
