Mrs. Shirley Cates, age 69 of Harriman, passed away Wednesday June 13, 2012 at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Vaden and Eva Mae Treadway Kirkland. One brother: James Kirkland. And two sisters: Barbara Thompson and Sharon Kent.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years: Tom Cates. One daughter: Lee Ann Cates. One granddaughter: Lily Cates. And two brothers: David Kirkland and Doug Cagle.
The family will receive friends Friday June 15, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Davis Funeral Home in Harriman. Funeral services will follow at 8:00 PM. Family and friends will meet Saturday morning, June 16, 2012 at 11:00 AM in Oak Grove Cemetery, Rockwood, for graveside services.
