Sarah Florence Smith

Mrs. Sarah Florence Smith, age 58 of Oak Ridge, was called home to be with God Wednesday May 15, 2013 after a long battle with cancer. She was at her home surrounded by loved ones. She will be greeted there by her mother, Betty Louise Smith, her father, Aubrey Ross Smith, Sr. and her brother Ruben Charles Smith. Sarah was born June 1, 1954 in Harriman, TN and was a 1972 graduate of Harriman High School. She worked in many different fields throughout her life, including being a legal secretary and a golf event planner. She enjoyed fishing, golfing, painting and arts and crafts and was also actively involved in the community.
She is survived by her sister, Mary Lee Smith Neal, her brother, Aubrey Ross Smith, Jr., her sister, Calma Lou Smith Miller, her sister Mandy Smith Goessling, her brother-in-law, Mark Gerard Goessling and her fiance' John Paul DeMelas. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, cousins, family and friends.
Visitation and a memorial service will be held Saturday May 18, 2013 beginning at 1:00 PM at Davis Funeral Home, Harriman.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. The family of Sarah Florence Smith wishes to thank John DeMelas, Shelia Bell, Brenda Joiner and all of Sarah's hospice nurses for their loving care throughout her illness.
