Roy Charles Bowlin

Rev. Roy C. Bowlin, age 69 of Wartburg went home to be with the Lord Friday January 17, 2014 at Roane Medical Center. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Roy worked for the Department of Energy in Oak Ridge for over 30 years. He was an ordained minister for more than 40 years and had pastored West Broadway Baptist in Lenoir City, Fairview Baptist and Coal Hill Baptist Churches in Morgan County. He attended Calvary Baptist Church in Wartburg. He was preceded in death by one son: Troy Bowlin. His parents: Rev. Troy and Ruth Bowlin. And his brother: Eugene Bowlin. He is survived by his wife of 36 years: Margaret Peters Bowlin. One son: Eric Bowlin both of Wartburg. Three sisters: Betty Blakney of Wartburg, Carol Abshare of Loudon and Beverly Sue Bowlin of Cleveland. And a host of nieces, nephews and other family, friends and loved ones. The family will receive friends Sunday January 19, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at Davis Funeral Home, Wartburg. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 PM. Graveside services will be Monday morning at 11:00 AM in Armes Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to help with expenses.
