Mr. Philip C. Kelly, age 65 of Rockwood, passed away Sunday February 23, 2014 at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. He was a member of South Harriman Baptist Church and a veteran of the United States Army. After serving his country, Philip attended Tennessee Tech where he earned a bachelor's degree in Wildlife Management. For the last 25 years, Philip has worked for the Department of Labor as a Veterans Employment Representative. He was preceded in death by his parents: Otha C. and Margaret Phillips Kelly. And one brother: Bill Kelly. He is survived by his wife of 39 years: Carol Boyd Kelly. His daughter and son-in-law: Becky and Mark Spearman of Bladenboro, NC. His son and daughter-in-law: Philip and Amanda Kelly of Wartburg. His sister and brother-in-law: Anne and Charles Kerr of Oakdale. And a sister-in-law: Sue Kelly of Rockwood. His granddaughter: Savannah Grace Kelly. And two step-grandsons: Jacob and Jordon Armes. The family will receive friends Wednesday February 26, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Davis Funeral Home, Harriman. Funeral services will be Thursday at 12:00 PM at South Harriman Baptist Church with Pastor Matt Edwards and Rev. Sam Leslie officiating. The body will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to the funeral service. Interment will follow in Roane Memorial Gardens with the Roane County Military Memorial Honor Guard providing military honors. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the South Harriman Baptist Church Young At Heart or the youth group.
