Peggy June Young

Mrs. Peggy Newcomb Young, age 85 of Harriman, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday June 23, 2015 at Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville. For more than 22 years, Peggy worked as a volunteer at Roane Medical Center. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Oakdale and was also a member Laurel Chapter 22 O.E.S. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years: Herbert Young. Her parents: Fred and Ethel Newcomb. And one daughter: Rhonda Malenovsky. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law: Bill and Susan Young. And her son-in-law: Eddie Malenovsky all of Harriman. Four grandchildren: Greg (Debbie) Malenovsky of Hendersonville, Melodie (Randy) Efferson of Montgomery, AL, Jason (Michelle) Young of Murfreesboro, and Heather Young of Knoxville. Six great grandchildren: Bates and Spencer Malenovsky, Elizabeth, Ethan and Emily Efferson and Jay Young. Special friend and "sister": Wanda Jo Lewis. The family will receive friends Wednesday June 24, 2015 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Davis Funeral Home, Harriman. Funeral services will follow at 8:00 PM with Rev. Jim Disney and Rev. Mike Winters officiating. Graveside services will be Thursday June 25, 2015 at 11:00 AM in Roane Memorial Gardens.
