Ora Franklin Austin

December 25, 1924 — May 27, 2014

Mr. Ora Franklin Austin, was born December 25, 1924 in Johnson County, TN the son of the late O. F. and Dimple Austin. He passed away Tuesday May 27, 2014 at his home in Deer Lodge. He was a life-long farmer and had lived for 75 years on his farm in the Chestnut Ridge community. He attended the Pine Grove Church of God in Crossville where he was a member of the Men's Sunday School Class. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by two sisters: Emma Jean Molthen and Faye Austin. His brother: Kyle, and two infant siblings: Max Donald and Jewell Austin. Two brothers-in-law: Gene Molthen and Gene Goad. And a sister-in-law: Betty Ruffner. He is survived by his wife of 60 years: Bonny Kate. One daughter and son-in-law: Rhonda and CW Mayes of Andersonville. Two sons and a daughter-in-law: Roger and Amy of Florence, SC and Bryan of Deer Lodge. Two grandsons: John Austin of Chicago, IL and Perry Austin of Charlotte, NC. One granddaughter: Brooke Cardwell and her husband Josh of Crossville. Two great grandchildren: Elizabeth and Titus Cardwell. Three sisters: Mildred Young, Bertha Eckhardt and Barbara Young. And two brothers; Wade and David. The family will receive friends Friday May 30, 2014 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Sunbright Church of God. A memorial service and celebration of life will follow at 7:00 PM with Rev. Josh Cardwell officiating. Graveside services will be 11:00 AM in the Sunbright Cemetery.
