Novena Joyce Sexton

Mrs. Novena Payne Sexton, age 69 of Sunbright, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday May 4, 2013 surrounded by her family and friends. She was a faithful member of Pilot Mountain Missionary Baptist Church for 44 years, serving as a Deacon's wife for 37 years. She was also a member of Sunbright Chapter 303 Order of the Eastern Star. Novena was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and inspired many through her faith and example.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Harold and Minnie Payne.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years: Joe Alvin Sexton. Her children: Tammy and husband Mike Davis, Darlene and husband Jerry Wallace, Joe Alvin Sexton II and wife Stephanie Sexton all of Sunbright, Tisha and husband Donald Jones of Wartburg. Ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Her sister: Sherry and husband Wayne Landrum of Livingston, TX and a host of nieces, nephews and other family, friends and loved ones.
The family will receive friends Tuesday May 7, 2013 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Davis Funeral Home, Wartburg. Funeral services will be Wednesday May 8, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Pilot Mt. Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Charles Webb and Bro Jeremy Sexton officiating. The body will lie in state from 12:00 to 2:00 at the church prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Lane Cemetery.
