Norma Mathis

Mrs. Norma Mathis, age 82, passed away Tuesday September 24, 2024, at Roane Medical Center in Harriman. She enjoyed attending New Life Baptist Church in Harriman and Bethal Baptist Church in Crossville. Norma retired after 30 plus years of service from the Morgan County Health Department and was the Librarian for 30 years at the Clinch Powell library in Oakdale.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years: Paul "Bud" Mathis

Parents: Milum Simpson Surgenor & Minnie Catherine Rogers Surgenor.

Five children: Virginia "Ginny" Mathis, Rebecca "Becky" Mathis Phillips & husband Ted, Christopher "Chris" Mathis & wife Missy, Paula Mathis Brown, and Matthew Mathis & wife Olivia.

Grandchildren: Meredith Laymance & husband Brent, Nick Ledford & wife Krystina, CJ Mathis & wife Kassi, Brandon Mathis, Holley Ledford, Bradley Mathis, Jasmine Mathis, and Sophie Mathis.

And many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family will meet Saturday September 28, 2024, at 3:00 PM in the Mathis Family Cemetery located at 495 Clifty Creek Rd, Oakdale for graveside services with Bro. Joey Smith officiating.
