Naomi Rebecca Butler

Mrs. Naomi Rebecca Butler, "Dit Dot", 83, of Harriman, passed away on February 20, 2014 in Harriman, TN. Naomi was born in the front room of the parsonage for First Baptist Church in Oakdale, TN. Born to Rev. David and Cressie Burris on January 12, 1931. She went to school at Oakdale where she graduated high school. She married William H. "Bill" Butler on April 1, 1953 at Trenton Street Baptist church in Harriman, TN. She worked at Shiver's Restaurant, Roane Hosiery, and Dollar General Store all in Harriman, TN. She was involved in making every person's life she came in contact with better and could make a dead stick come to life. She is preceded in death by her loving husband: William H. "Bill" Butler and family. She is survived by One son: George and wife Dayna Butler One sister: Dorcas Mitchell Two brothers: James and John Burris Five grandchildren: Corrine E. Brady and husband Max, Natalie S. Alexander and husband Christopher, Jacob W. Butler, Laura Benedetto, Daniel Benedetto And her adopted family Betty and Daniel Noe. The family will receive friends Sunday, February 23, 2014 at Davis Funeral Home from 1:00 to 3:00 PM. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM with Pastor Garvin Walls and Jess Rittenhouse officiating. The graveside service will be held at Walnut Hill Cemetery on Monday February 24, 2014 at 11:00 AM.
