Mamie Christine Newport

Ms. Mamie C. Newport, age 81 of Harriman, passed away Sunday December 29, 2013 at Roane Medical Center. She was a member of Emory Gap Baptist Church. Mamie retired from the Harriman City Hospital where she worked as an LPN after many years of faithful service. She was preceded in death by her Parents: Elsick and Josie Armes Newport. Four brothers: Ralph, Ray, Arthur, and Barnie Two sisters: Flora and Stella And one niece: Sherry Brown. She is survived by her three nieces: Darleta, Linda and Carolyn. Four nephews: Ben, Ronnie, Gary and Larry. One great niece: Jennifer Brown and several other great nieces, nephews, family, friends and loved one. The family will receive friends Wednesday January 1, 2014 from 5 to 7 PM at Davis Funeral Home, Harriman. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 PM with Bro. Willard Gunter officiating. Interment will be Thursday January 2, 2014 at 1 PM in Roane Memorial Gardens.
