Mrs. Loyce Aileen May Kubas, age 84 of Harriman, went to be with Jesus on Thursday February 21, 2019. She was born in Wheat, Tennessee on February 27, 1934. Mrs. Kubas was a long time member of the Lee Village Baptist Church where she served as a secretary for 10 years following her retirement from South Central Bell Telephone Company.
She is preceded in death by her husband: Stanley Kubas
Her parents: Robert and Elena May
Infant sister: Gwendolyn Rose May
Two sisters: Mildred May and Shirley May Cupp
One brother: R.C. May
She is survived by her daughter: Melanie Pelfrey and her husband Keith
Three granddaughters: Sabrina Pelfrey and her fiancé Chris Condrone, Haley Pelfrey and Alexis Walker all of Harriman
One brother in law: Joe Cupp
Three nieces: Tonya Wimberley and her husband David of Knoxville, Phyllis Mutz and her husband Larry and Tricia May, both of Wartburg
Two nephews: Charles Cupp of Knoxville, Phil May and his wife Theresa of Michigan
Four great nephews: Ethan and Lukas Cupp and Blake and Jay Wimberley of Knoxville
Her lifelong special friend: Norma Sanders
And a host of many other special friends, family and loved ones.
The family will receive friends on Monday March 4, 2019 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Davis Funeral Home in Harriman. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 PM with Pastor Matt Cannon officiating. The interment will be held on Tuesday March 5, 2019 at 1:00 PM in the Roane Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her memory to the Lee Village Baptist Church Family Life Center.
