Layfatte Fate Currier

Mr. Layfatte Fate Currier, Jr., age 88 of Harriman, went home to be with the Lord Saturday March 16, 2013 at Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville. Fate worked at the Harriman Hosiery Mill for 36 years. He was a dedicated husband and father and will be missed by family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Laufatte and Lydia Sherwood Currier. One son: David Currier. Four brothers: Ray, Cecil, Fred and Onnie Currier. Seven sisters: Lou Currier, Pearl Baker, Mary Henley, Laura Sarten, Ella Mae Miller, Mable Loposser and Mollie Patton. A grandson: Garey Lowe. And a great grandson: Ryan Daniels.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years: Louise Currier. Three sons and daughters-in-law: Teddy and Janice Currier of Harriman, Vernon and Gina Currier of Rockwood and Mark and Kim Currier of Harriman. One daughter-in-law: Rhonda Currier of Harriman. Two sisters: Partha Sarten and Ruth Currier both of Harriman. Twelve grandchildren, thirty-four great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Monday March 18, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Edgewood Baptist Church in Kingston. Funeral services will follow at 8:00PM with Rev. Darrell Griffis, Rev. Fred Ward and Rev. Wes Strickland officiating. Family and friends will meet at 2:00 PM Tuesday in Roane Memorial Gardens for graveside services.
