Mr. Joseph "Joe" Christopher Long, 44, of Crossville, formally of Harriman passed away unexpectedly Monday June 1, 2020 at his home. Joe was born August 19, 1975 and was a 1994 graduate of Harriman High School where he played football and baseball. He is preceded in death by his grandparents: Paul & Betty Jones, Jim & Martha Long, Omil & Ada Ruth Johnston. He is survived by his fiancé: Trista Cuzzort and her sons Jason and Jarison Simmons. Mother and husband: Margaret & Jonny Johnston. Father and wife: Jim & Shelia Long. Siblings: Heather and husband Wesley Barger, Mike Long, Donna and husband Jerry Devereauz, Ann and husband Daniel Johnson. Joe also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews. Along with many aunts and uncles and all of his family was loved and treasured by him. There is no doubt that Joe's sense of humor will live on in them through his never-ending pranks. His goal was to teach the kids how to laugh and have fun, not being afraid to be the brunt of a joke. We never knew what to expect from him on Christmas as he went from shrink wrapping $20 in pennies in a dirty sock for the kids one year, to gifting portable travel urinals for the teen girls in another. He even presented blankets adorned with larger than life photos of himself to his sisters. One thing Joe always left you with was a smile. Joe enjoyed being outdoors. Whether he was hiking, fishing, camping or even hunting. His outlook on life was simple and he was always so selfless putting others before himself. He lived, he loved, he laughed and he left nothing to be missed. The family will receive friends, Thursday, June 11,2020 at Emory Heights Baptist Church from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
