Mr. John W. "Bill" Devaney, age 75 of Harriman, passed away Wednesday July 15, 2015 at Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and served aboard the USS Floyd B. Parks (DD-884). Bill owned and operated Devaney Electric in Harriman for over 43 years. He was a competitive drag boat racer who loved to build and race drag boats. He was preceded in death by his father: John William Devaney, Sr. He is survived by his wife: Donna Matlock Devaney. His mother: Vernice Devaney. One son: John Devaney, III. And one daughter: April Jackson. Three step-daughters: Angie Jones, Jennifer Cornellison and Amy Russell. One brother: Gary Devaney. One sister: Linda Andrews. Eleven grandchildren and a host of other family, friends and loved ones. The family will receive friends Friday July 17, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Davis Funeral Home, Harriman. Family and friends will meet at 10:00 AM Saturday July 18, 2015 at New Midway Church Cemetery for graveside services.
