John L. Adkisson

Mr. John L. Adkisson, age 74, of Birmingham, Alabama, formerly of South Harriman, passed away Saturday June 26, 2010 at Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville. John was a veteran of the United States Army and served in the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by his parents: Lon and Lona Adkisson. He is survived by his two children, both of which are also veterans: Tony Adkisson, US Navy, of Oak Ridge and Lisa Jacobsen, US Army and her husband Barry of Richmond, Virginia. Two brothers: Bill Adkisson of Wartburg and Wilburn Adkisson of Dayton, Ohio. One sister: Betty Phillips of Oak Ridge. And a host of nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones. The family will receive friends Monday June 28, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Davis Funeral Home, Harriman. Funeral services will follow at 8:00 PM with Rev. Mason Goodman officiating. Graveside services will be held Tuesday morning at 10:00 AM in Roane Memorial Gardens, Rockwood.
