Mr. Jesse Eugene "Gene" Bale, age 80, of Kingston went home to be with the Lord Monday February 4, 2013. He was a veteran of the Korean War and was a faithful member and trustee of Coal Hill Missionary Baptist Church. Gene worked as a printer for the Roane County News for over 30 years opening before starting his own business, Gene's Printing, in Harriman where he worked for 23 years. He was a loving father, brother, papaw and husband.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years: Della Bale. His mother and step-father: Mary and Bill Lacross. Three brothers: Louis, James and Butch Bale. And two sisters: Freida and Marie.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law: Randall and Kathy Bale of Monterey. His daughter and son-in-law: Robin and David Manor of Kingston. Five grandchildren: Amanda Harris, Stephanie Burnham, Vanessa Manor, Felicia Tatum and Brantley Tatum. Five great grandchildren: Elijah Whitley, Hallie Whitley, Hadley McPeak, Jared Harris and Amelia Tatum. Two sisters: Bessie of Oregon and Louise of California.
The family will receive friends Friday February 8, 2013 at Davis Funeral Home, Harriman from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral service will be Saturday at 1:00 PM at Coal Hill Missionary Baptist Church will Rev. Bill Treadway, Rev. Tim Ruppe and Rev. Doug Ritter officiating. The body will lie in state at the church 1 hour prior to the services. Interment will follow in the Coal Hill Cemetery.
