J.B. Dayton

Mr. J.B. Dayton, HTC USN Ret., age 63 of Goose Creek, SC, formerly of Harriman, died Wednesday September 25, 2013. He was born February 22, 1935 in Harriman, son of the late Wilbur and Ollie Osborne Dayton. He was a graduate of South Harriman High School, retired Shipfitter at the Charleston Naval Shipyard and a Korea and Vietnam Veteran. J.B. was also a Past Post Commander of Post 166 of the American Legion in Goose Creek, SC, The Forty & Eight Voiture 1067 Past Chef De Gare; AFM #401; VFW; FRA #263 and he was a Tin Can Sailor.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Claudette Boyce Dayton.
He is survived by his two sons: Gary Dayton and Barry Dayton both of Goose Creek, SC. And his brother: William Dayton of Harriman.
A memorial service will be held Sunday September 29, 2013 in the American Legion Post 166, 116 Howe Hall Road, Goose Creek, SC at 4:00 PM. Inurnment will be in Beaufort National Cemetery at a later date.
