James Cate

James Edward Cate, age 77, of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away on March 22, 2025. Jim was a Marine Corps Veteran that served in the Vietnam War. He was a loving Son, Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great- Grandfather and was loved by everyone he loved. He loved life, was an adventurous man and loved to travel. He was very special and will be truly missed.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents: Edsel and Madeline Cate.

Brother: Edsel Cate Jr.

Jim is survived by his children, James Cate II, Lori Crouch, Deborah Krueger, Gaebrayelle Harris and Arielle Castillo.

Grandchildren: Drew Crouch, Christopher Houser, Paige Hickman and Kevin Castillo.

Great-Grandchildren: Savanna Crouch and Dominic Houser.

Siblings: Gary Rader, Janice Hickman, Debbie McCoy, Randy Rader and Carla Hurst.

And many nieces, nephews and friends.

The family will meet on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, 2200 E. Governor John Sevier Hwy Knoxville, TN 37920 at 2:00 PM for graveside services.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Davis Funeral Home in Harriman.
