Herman "Hump" Lowery

April 14, 1932 — March 28, 2014

Mr. Herman "Hump" Lowery, age 81 of Harriman, passed away Friday March 28, 2014 at his home. He was born April 14, 1932 in Copperhill, Tennessee. He was of the Baptist Faith and a Veteran of the U.S. Army. He was the owner of Hump's Used Cars in South Harriman for 30 years. He was preceded in death by his wife: Vivian Bullard Lowery. Parents: James Elmer and Fairl Bice Lowery. One infant brother: Robert O. Lowery. And one other brother: Delma O. Lowery. He is survived by four sons: Carl "Big John" Lowery of Harriman, Rickie Lowery of Jamestown, Jerry "Wormy" Lowery of Harriman, and James "Jimmy" and wife Kathy Lowery of Harriman. One daughter: Evelyn "Sissy" Davidson and her husband Ralph. Four brothers and five sisters-in-law: Charles "Chuck" and Goldie Lowery of Harriman, Raymon and Jackie Lowery of Hixon, Leon and Wanda Lowery of Harriman, Bennie and Paula Lowery of Dallas, Texas, and Edna Lee Lowery of Newton, Illinois. Nine grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Monday March 31, 2014 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Davis Funeral Home, Harriman. Funeral services will follow at 8:00 PM in the chapel of Davis Funeral Home with Rev. Edward Parton and W.C. "Sonny" Harvey officiating. Interment will be Tuesday at 11:00 AM in the Roane Memorial Gardens.
