Mr. Glenn A. Brummitt, age 76 of Harriman, passed away Sunday May 11, 2014 at Roane Medical Center. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. Glenn worked for Tennessee Highway Patrol for 12 years before going to work as a security officer at TVA until his retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents: Clyde and Ora Smith Brummitt. One son: David Brummitt. And one brother: T.R. Brummitt. He is survived by his wife of 25 years: Patsy Armes Brummitt. His daughter: Tammy Brummitt of Knoxville. His step-son: Glenn Armes of Harriman. One brother and sister-in-law: Eric and Pat Brummitt of Kingston. Two sisters and one brother-in-law: Sue and Jerry Johnson of Rockwood, and Jewel Davis of Harriman. One sister-in-law: Hazel Brummitt of Kingston. And one grandson who Glenn said was the apple of his eye: Landon Armes. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and other friends and loved ones. The family will receive friends Thursday May 15, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Davis Funeral Home, Harriman. Funeral services will follow at 8:00 PM with Minister Gary Hoss officiating. Graveside services will be Friday afternoon at 2:00 PM in Roane Memorial Gardens.
