Frankie Lee Bowers

April 20, 1913 — April 21, 2014

Mrs. Frankie Lee Driskill Bowers, age 101 of Harriman, passed away Monday April 21, 2014 at The Bridge. She was born on April 20, 1913 in Wheat, TN then moved to Harriman, TN and lived there all her life. "Nanny" had a very strong faith and was a member of the Trenton Street Baptist Church. She retired from Burlington Hosiery Mill after over 40 years of dedicated service. Nanny truly loved her family and always made time to spend with each and every one of us. She was a wonderful cook and loved to host family dinners on every special occasion or "just because". Always there to greet you with a big smile, Nanny loved to talk and would always try to extend your visit as long as possible. You could always count on her for a warm hug, wise words of advice, or just a listening ear. She loved elephants and anything blue. She touched the hearts of so many people, and she will be forever missed. Her gentleness of spirit, her kindness, and her loving nature still shine through in every memory we have of her. We will always cherish the time we were able to spend with her. We are so thankful to have had her in our lives and for everything she taught us. She was preceded in death by her husband: Dave Bowers Her parents: James Franklin Driskill and Maggy May Driskill One sister: Archie Driskill One daughter: Patsy Joan Lay One grandson: Brian Clay Burgess And one great grandson: Clayton Burgess She is survived by one granddaughter: Lynn Perella and husband David of Knoxville, TN Two grandsons: Chester and wife Cathy Burgess of Knoxville, TN and Frank and special friend Jennifer Scribner of Harriman, TN Six great grandchildren: Amber Burgess, Lauren Wilkison and her husband Alan, Mariah Scribner, Riley Burgess, Colby Burgess, and Frankie Burgess.
