Flossie Shillings

Mrs. Flossie Shillings, age 87 of Sunbright, went home to be with her Heavenly Father Thursday, May 22 at her home surrounded by those she loved. She was a lifelong member of Heritage Baptist Church ( formerly Stringfield Chapel). She accepted Christ at an early age oand lived her life with a love and passion for Christ that was exhibited through her daily walk. She enjoyed reading her Bible daily and sharing her Christian faith and God's love with others. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 40 years: Ben Shillings. Four brothers: John, Jack, Jake and H.G. Williams. Two sisters: Polly Adams and Ruth Newport. She is survived by daughter: Carolyn & husband Willard Gunter of Sunbright Sons: David & wife Karen Shillings of Indianapolis, IN and Harvey & wife Marg Shillings of Waverly, IN. One sister: June Stephens of Chestnut Ridge, TN She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter and a host of nieces and nephews. The viewing will be held at her home church, Heritage Baptist in Sunbright from 12 noon to 2:00 PM Saturday May 24, 2014 with the funeral to follow. She will be laid to rest next to her loving husband Ben in the Sunbright Cemetery. Officiating the services will be Bro. Lynn Gaylon and Bro. John Bonham. Davis Funeral Home, Wartburg is in charge of all arrangements and much gratitude and appreciation is given to each member of their staff.
