November 14, 1931 — October 29, 2024

Mrs. Faye G. Green, age 92, passed away Tuesday October 29, 2024, at the home of her daughter, Jan Carter, RN, in Deer Lodge. "Genie", as she was affectionally known, was born at home, November 14, 1931, in Conway, South Carolina, daughter of the late Samuel Johnson Hucks and Faye Myrtle Todd Hucks. She accepted Jesus in her heart as a young girl and was brought up in the Baptist faith. Genie was employed by GECC for 39 years in Jacksonville, Florida as an auditor over the southeastern states, and was the first woman in Florida to hold that position with the company. She was a loyal, thorough, and exceptional employee who loved her challenging work, making her invaluable to the company.

Regarding her family, Genie always said, "My children are my greatest assets." Her favorite and most rewarding role was that of motherhood. Her devotion to her six children remains unmatched. In Proverbs 31, the Bible describes a woman as one rising while it is yet night, and providing food for her household, her lamp does not go out at night, strength and dignity are her clothing, she looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.

Along with her parents, Genie was preceded in death by her first husband: Jerald David Green, and her second husband: Herbert H. Register.

Her first-born son: James D. Green, Sr.

Two sisters: Audrey C. Richardson, and Sharon H. Johnston.

And two grandchildren: James D. Green, Jr., and Rachel Coree Green.

She is survived by her sister: Elverta Hucks Kenney.

Five children: Jerry J. Green and his wife Julie of Tennessee, John R. Green and his wife Sharon of Florida, Janice "Jan" A. Green Carter of Tennessee, Janet L. Green Underhill and her husband Roy of South Carolina, and Joyce F. Green Carpenter and her husband Craig of Florida.

Eleven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, along with a host of nieces and nephews.
