Mrs. Essie Bell Manis Kasior Brackett, age 84 of Harriman, went home to be with the Lord Friday December 23, 2011 at Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville. She was born May 8, 1927 in the Ponders Community and regularly attended church at the Free Pentecostal Church of Harriman. She was preceded in death by two husbands: Jack Kasior and William R. Brackett. Her parents: Lon Manis and Ina Wyrick. One daughter and son-in-law: Una and Thomas Watson. Four sons-in-law: Harold Whaley, David Fulks, Jimmy Thompson and Elmer Garner. Three great grandchildren: Roger Kilby, Jacob Ashbrook and Phillip Lyons. Five brothers: Vick, Sonny, Frank, Chester and John Manis. And three sisters: Hazel Wright, Irene Suddath and Georgia Brown. She is survived by eight daughters: Bobbie Falks Mayton and her husband Ernest of Westel, Mary Whaley of Harriman, June Garner of Baxley, GA, Martha Hicks and her husband Brad of Oakdale, Mary Evelyn Kasior, Susan Helen Kasior, Susan Ellen Kasior and Lou Ann Kasior all of Knoxville. Three step-children: Linda Thacker of Kingston, Naomie Curtis of Harriman and Gary Brackett of Georgia. Thirty-two grandchildren, forty-eight great grandchildren, twenty-two great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other family, friends and loved ones. The family will receive friends Tuesday December 227, 2011 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Davis Funeral Home, Harriman. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday morning at the Free Pentecostal Church of Harriman with Rev. Arthur York, Jr., Doug Johnson and Dudley Evans officiating. Interment will follow in the Kelsay Cemetery in the Ponders Community.
