Mr. Earl Allen Britt, Jr., age 59 of Hernando, Mississippi formally of Harriman, passed away Thursday morning January 12, 2012 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Hernando, MS. Allen grew up in Harriman and attended Harriman High School. He played football with Blue Devil pride and still holds records at HHS. Allen graduated from the University of Tennessee where he majored in Education and he remained a loyal UT fan his entire life. He taught at various institutes including Oakdale High School where he coached football with his longtime friend David Stevens. Later in life he pursued other career opportunities. Loving son, brother, "Punkin", uncle and friend are just a few of the titles he wore with pride. Today we say goodbye to someone we held dear. In the tomorrows that follow, we will once again say hello as time departs and the family once again reunites. Until that time Allen, know we hold you in our hearts. He was preceded in death by his father: Earl Allen Britt. He is survived by his mother: Peggy Pierce. One sister and brother-in-law: Nanette and James Murray all of Harriman. One nephew: Matthew Murray of Lenoir City. And one niece: Keara Childs of Harriman. Three maternal aunts: Evelyn Fielder of Florida, Annette Marler of Utah and Betty Newhouse. One paternal uncle: Clifford Britt of Rockwood and a host of other friends and loved ones. The family will receive friends Monday January 16, 2012 from 6:00 to 7:30 PM at Davis Funeral Home, Harriman. Funeral services will follow at 7:30 with Bro. Scott Butler officiating. Graveside services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday afternoon in Roane Memorial Gardens.
