PFC Donald Edward Bowlin, age 19 of Harriman went to be with the Lord Monday May 21, 2012 in Quantico, VA. He was born December 22, 1992 in Harriman. He graduated from Oliver Springs High School in 2011 where he participated in different clubs and he played on the football team. After high school Donald pursued a career in the United States Marine Corp where he graduated boot camp in October 2011. He then attended training for Data System Technician in 29 Palms, CA where he graduated May 2012. He was stationed in Quantico, VA at his time of death. Donald loved the Lord and his family. He attended church at Bible Baptist Church in Harriman. In his spare time, he enjoyed sports, hunting and fishing. His lifelong dream was to be a Marine... The Few, The Proud, The Marines. Although his time was short, he fulfilled his lifelong dream.
He was preceded in death by his father: Donald Edward Bowlin. Grandparent: Delmer and Wanda Watson and Jay and Lena Bowlin. Uncle: Darrell Watson.
He is survived by his parents: Chuck and Tammy Miles of Harriman. Mother: Robin Johnson. Two brothers: Daniel Davis and Dakota Miles. Four sisters: Veronica Coats and husband Steve of Kentucky, December Davis, Destiny and Darcy Miles of Harriman. Grandparents: Mack Smith of Harriman and Floyd Miles of Jacksboro. Uncle: Mark Smith of Harriman. Aunt: Sheila Brummett also of Harriman. Great uncle: Leonard Sims of Oakdale. Niece: Jackie Carroll of Wartburg. And a host of other family, friends and loved ones.
The family will receive friends Saturday June 2, 2012 from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at Davis Funeral Home, Harriman. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM with Pastor Glenn Leffew officiating. Graveside services will follow in Pine Orchard Cemetery in Oakdale.
