Mrs. Dollie Lou Stout Mitchell, age 73, of Rockwood, lovingly known as "The Jewelry Lady", passed away at her home Friday, August 14, 2015, just 49 days after receiving a diagnosis of Pancreatic Cancer. Dollie was born in Rockwood, Tennessee on March 16, 1942 to Minerva Jane Simpson Stout and William Roy Stout. She worked as a seamstress at Camel Manufacturing in Kingston making military tents and later at Rockwood Sportswear making leather jackets. When she could no longer sew she became a personal caregiver and housekeeper for many, which brought her much joy because she loved helping others, especially Mom Parker. However, her greatest joy came from being a wife and mother. Although she didn't have much, she shared whatever she had. Dollie's favorite hobby was making jewelry to give away. She always loved making others happy. Wherever she went she always carried jewelry to give to anyone she met, whether it be shopping, especially at United Grocery Outlet in Harriman, when she went to the doctor's office, while in the hospital or even while eating at The Golden Corral in Knoxville, her favorite restaurant. Dollie also loved to color posters with her markers and also gave these away. She was a sweet and generous lady who loved to make people happy. She was preceded in death by her husband: Leon B. Mitchell Her parents: Minerva Jane Simpson Stout and William Roy Stout Four brothers: John, Robert, Lawrence, and Roy Five sisters: Pauline, Ruth, Della, Francis, and Margie And several nieces and nephews. She is survived by three sons: William, Douglas, and James One daughter: Susanna Six grandchildren: Ashley, Jeffrey, Monica, Katie, Olivia, and Zachary Two great grandchildren: Alana and Isaiah And several other nieces, nephews, friends, and loved ones. The family will receive friends on Thursday August 20, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Davis Funeral Home in Harriman.
