Donald Tilson

Mr. Donald Jack Tilson, age 78, of Mossy Grove, Tennessee, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, October 20, 2024, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born August 15, 1946, in Oakdale, Tennessee to the late Arvil and Hester Tilson. Don lived a life marked by love and a deep commitment to God, his family and friends. A veteran of the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War, Donald was proud to have served his country. Don was a longtime member of Fellowship Baptist Church and loved his church family dearly. Don found strength from his faith and love for Jesus Christ. Don had a passion for fishing and boating and reflected fondly on the years he spent fishing in tournaments. In addition to fishing, he spent many days woodworking in his garage and always had a story to tell. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Ray and Paul Tilson

Two sisters: Faye Jones and Wanda Emrhein

And one niece LeeAnn Taylor

He leaves behind a loving and devoted wife of 56 years: Patricia Ann Tilson

One daughter: Tammy Tilson Keener (Doug)

One son: Jeff Tilson (Jane)

Two sisters: Betty Hobbs (Will) and Lois Sexton (Tommy)

His legacy lives on through his granddaughter Natalie Keener (Nick Bocchetta) and grandsons Zane and Simon Keener, and Jett Tilson

Don is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.

The family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home in Wartburg on Monday October 28, 2024 from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM with Bro. Randall Landrum officiating. The graveside service will follow the funeral service in the Morgan Memorial Gardens.
