David King Mee

January 20, 1936 — March 8, 2020

Mr. David King Mee Jr. "Paw" passed away Sunday March 8, 2020 at Roane Medical Center. David was a lifelong resident of Harriman, Tennessee. He was born January 20, 1936 to David King Mee Sr. and Annie Godsey Mee. David graduated early from Harriman High School in 1954. On March 4, 1955 he married the love of his life, Marlene. He worked at Mead Corporation papermill in Harriman from 1965 to 1975. He then went to work at X-10 and worked as a millwright until he retired in 2002. After retiring, David spent his time piddlin' around the house, playing in horseshoe tournaments or mowing the yard, all things he loved to do, but nothing was more important to David than spending time with his family. David was also always faithful to attend church, he spent many years attending Grace Baptist Church in Harriman and Liberty Baptist Church in Kingston.
He was preceded in death by his parents: David & Annie Mee. Sisters: JoAnn Basler (Howard) and Margie Hinds (Ed). Granddaughter: Stephanie Mee. Brother-in-laws: Terry Graves & Tommy Graves (Ruth).
He is survived by his wife of 65 years: Marlene. Son: David Mee (Debra). Granddaughter: Jessica Hastings (Justin). Great-grandson: Luke Hastings. Sister-in-law: Wilma Byrge. And several nieces and nephews and many friends and loved ones. The family will meet at Roane Memorial Gardens Wednesday March 11, 2020 at 11:00 AM for graveside services with Pastor Randy Griffis officiating. Davis Funeral Home in Harriman is honored to serve the Mee family.
