Daniel Paul Fleming, age 66, of Harriman, formerly of Oak Ridge, peacefully went to be with the Lord on Jan. 11, 2014 with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Angela Pisacane Fleming. Daniel was born in Hartford Ct. on July 22, 1947; son of the late Daniel J. and Alice Cullen Fleming; served his country faithfully in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam era, and worked as an environmental scientist for many years. In North Haven, Ct., Daniel served as a fire commissioner, member of the American Legion Murray Reynolds Post #76, and member of the Inland/Wetland Committee. He was a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus/Father McRedmond Council and a former parishioner of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Oak Ridge. Daniel loved the great outdoors, bluegrass music, and traveling but most of all enjoyed his family and friends. He was the loving father of Daniel J Fleming II and step-father of Jennifer Bibby- Gerth (Jonathan) and Michael Bibby. Grandfather of Dominic Gerth. Brother of Helen Fleming, Patricia Fryer (Jack), Deidre Fleming, Alicia Fleming Sato (Morihiko), and Christine Lewis (Michael). Also survived by nieces and nephews. A mass of Christian burial was held in Daniel's hometown, North Haven, Ct., on Jan. 18. A memorial mass will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Harriman, this Sat., Feb. 1, at 2 pm followed by a celebration of life gathering at the Bradbury Community Center 195 Speers Road in Kingston. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Michael Dunn Center, 629 Gallaher Rd, Kingston, Tn. 37763 or www.michaeldunncenter.org.
