Mr. Clinton E. Neal, age 82 of Rockwood, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Friday April 1, 2011 at Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville. Clint was a 23 year veteran of the US Navy. After serving his country, Clint attended the University of Tennessee where he earned both his bachelors and masters degrees in history. He educated young minds in history and civics for 20 years in Morgan and Roane Counties. Clint was a 50 year member of Rockwood Masonic Lodge #403, Knoxville Scottish Rite and Alhambra Shriners. God and family were the center of his life, he was a wonderful loving husband, cherished father, grandfather and great grandfather. Clint was a devoted Sunday School teacher and loved teaching and reading the Bible. He was a member of Eureka Baptist Church and was an avid golfer and bowler. He was preceded in death by a grandson: Anthony "Tony" Peak. His former wife: Doris Berryhill. And his parents: Walter and Mildred Neal. He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years: Helen Neal. Eight children: Pamela and Eric Broussard of Abbeville, LA, Marlette Marcure of Phoenix, AZ, Darla and Glen Westrich of Huntsville, AL, Clinton Neal, II of Kingston, Lieutenant Colonel Clayton and Dr. Karen Neal of Lake Wylie, SC, Paula Coley of Rockwood, Jeffery Smith of Knoxville and Greg Smith of Rockwood. He is also survived by 24 little shining lights in his life in 19 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Saturday April 2, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Davis Funeral Home, Harriman. Funeral services will follow at 8:00 PM with Pastor Mike Winters of Eureka Baptist Church and Pastor John Underwood of Bethel Baptist Church officiating. Masonic services will follow. Graveside services with military honors will be Sunday afternoon at 2:00 PM in Roane Memorial Gardens. Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons: Neal Tomlinson, Travis Broussard, Ryan McClure, Chris Neal, Clifton Neal, Trey Coley, Jake Westrich and Brannen Marcure. Honorary pallbearers will be The Good Ole Boys Bowling Team. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to: Eureka Baptist Church, the Scottish Rite Autism Fund or the Shriners Children Fund.
