Clifton "Tip" Matheson

Mr. Clifton "Tip" Matheson, age 81 of Harriman, passed away Sunday September 22, 2013 at his home. Tip worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad until he was drafted into the U.S. Army where he served from 1951 to 1953. He was a veteran of the Korean War. Tip also worked for several years at Burlington Mill and later at Tennessee Forge and Steel. He was last employed for Roane County Waste Management.
He was born to the late William Clarence and Cassie Lowe Matheson. He was also preceded in death by twelve brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years: Ollie Mae Matheson. Four children and their spouses: Connie and Dutch Clark, William C. and Donna Matheson all of Harriman, Kay and Joe Andrew of Ten Mile and Clifton and Kathy Matheson of Harriman. One sister: Juanita Phillip of Cleveland, TN. Twelve grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM at Davis Funeral Home in Harriman, Wednesday September 25, 2013. The funeral service will be at 8 PM with Rev. Joe Andrew officiating. Graveside service will be Thursday September 26, 2013 at 11 AM at Swan Pond Cemetery.
