Clarence Donald Arwood, Sr.

Mr. Clarence Donald Arwood, Sr., age 68 of Philadelphia, passed away Saturday November 14, 2015 at Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville. He was retired from the United States Army after 21 years of service. Don served two tours in Vietnam and served for many years as a Drill Sargent. He was a member of Whites Creek Baptist Church and the V.F.W. He was preceded in death by his parents: Clarence and Bonnie Arwood. And two sisters: Vickey Fritts and Carol Shamblin. He is survived by his wife of 49 years: Josephine Arwood. His son: Clarence Donald Arwood, Jr. His daughter: Donna Jo Henderson. Four grandchildren: Miranda Bayne, Andrea Avila, Eddie Henderson and Alissa Brooke Arwood. One great granddaughter: Alexa Dawn Avila. Seven brothers, one sister and a host of nieces, nephews and other family, friends and loved ones. The family will receive friends Wednesday November 18, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Davis Funeral Home, Harriman. Funeral services will follow at 8:00 PM with Rev. Charles Webb officiating. Graveside services will be Thursday morning at 11:00 AM in Rankins Chapel Cemetery in Oakdale with military honors provided by the Brannon - Kreis American Legion Post 149 Honor Guard.
