Charles Ed Young

Mr. Charles Ed Young, age 74 of Lancing, passed away Friday August 19, 2016 at his home after a short illness. Charles Ed was a prominent business man in the community. He owned Young's Auto Part store in Wartburg for many years. He was a member of the Emerald Lodge #377 in Wartburg. He was also a lifelong member of the Annadell Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. Bro. Charles Ed Young was known by everyone for the deep love he had for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was preceded in death by his father and mother: Edward and Perna Young of the Gobey community Four sisters and five brothers-in-law: Dorothy Crutchfield and husband Arie, Eva Shelley and husband Walter, Edna Sumner and husband Charles, Iva Melhorn and husband Otto, and George Dean Melhorn One brother and sister-in-law: Roy Hall and wife Viola One niece: Patty (Melhorn) Thomas and her husband Johnny Thomas And four nephews: David Sumner, Ray and Lynn Shelley, and Robbie Huegle He is survived by his wife of 57 years: Patsy Griffith Young One sister: Shelby Melhorn of the Gobey community And a host of other family, friends and loved ones. The family will receive friends Saturday August 20, 2016 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Davis Funeral Home, Wartburg. A masonic memorial service will be held. The funeral service will be held on Sunday August 21, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the Annadell Baptist Church with Bro. Joey Aytes and Bro. Bill Goodman officiating. The interment will follow in the Annadell Baptist Church Cemetery with Bro. James Griffith and Bro. Ralph Nance officiating.
