Mr. Bradley T. Patten, age 88, of Oakdale, passed away Wednesday October 13, 2021, at his home. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. Brad was a retired from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration where he worked on several projects with NASA. He was a member of the SCCA (Sports Car Club of America) where he was involved with many high-profile races such as the 24 Hours at Daytona, the 12 Hours at Sebring, along with many more. He was an avid scuba diver and even dove with the world-famous diver and treasure hunter Mel Fisher on the 1622 wreck of the Spanish galleon, The Atocha. Brad was a member of Emerald Lodge #377 F&AM, and also Kerbela Shriners, serving as a van driver, transporting children to the Shriners Hospital, and also as the “Pip” the clown. He was an accomplished singer, having sung with the Florida Grand Opera, and a photography enthusiast. Brad also enjoyed studying the various religions as he traveled the world.
He is survived by two children, six grandchildren, several great grandchildren, along with a host of friends and loved ones.
