Bessie Ruth Kelly

Bessie Ruth Hamilton Kelly, age 92, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, July 10, 2015. She was born February 19, 1923, in Harriman, Tennessee, to Frank and Ethel Hamilton, who precede her in death. She was a charter member of Big Emory Baptist Church in Harriman, where she attended faithfully for many years. She was married to C.S. Kelly, who precedes her in death. She was the proud mother of four boys. Her youngest son, Danny, preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Hamilton Phillips, and a brother, Frank Hamilton. She is survived by sons Franklin Kelly of Knoxville; Howell (Gladys) Kelly of Kingston; and Dennis (Jenni) Kelly of Rockwood. She also is survived by five grandchildren, Tammy (Mike) Woodall of Maryville; David Kelly of Knoxville; Daniel Kelly of Knoxville; Rebecca Kelly of India; and Debra Kelly of Knoxville. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Pauline Hawn, of Oakdale, and a niece, Sharon (Don) Robinson, of Harriman.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 13, at Davis Funeral Home in Harriman with funeral to follow at 7:00 p.m. with Reverend Randy Griffis and Freddy Tedder officiating. Burial will be Tuesday, July 14, at 11:00 a.m. at Harriman Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff of Harriman Health Care Center for their care of our mother and grandmother.
