Bertha Mae Nelson

Mrs. Bertha "Nanny Bert" Nelson, age 93 of Harriman, passed away Friday April 15, 2016 at her home. She worked at Roane Hosiery for many years. Nanny Bert was a faithful member of Emory Heights Baptist Church where she loved working in the kitchen, at Vacation Bible School and with the AWANAS.
She was preceded in death by her son: Carlos Nelson. And her daughter: Charlotte Harmon. One granddaughter: Dorothy Jane Nelson. Her parents: Walter and Sadie Nelson. Four brothers and four sisters. She is survived by four grandchildren: Carlton and Mara Nelson, Richard and LaTonya Nelson, Nelson and Crystal Harmon, Lisa Harmon and Albert Ward. Twelve great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews as well as other family, friends and loved ones. The family will receive friends Sunday April 17, 2016 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at Davis Funeral Home, Harriman. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM with Rev. Wayne Nelson officiating. Interment will follow in Swan Pond Cemetery.
