Bennie Shannon

March 22, 1949 — February 9, 2025

Mr. Bennie J. Shannon, age 75, of the Annadel community, passed away Sunday February 9, 2025, at Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville. He was a member of Annadel Missionary Baptist Church. Bennie was self-employed his entire life. For 60 years he helped run his family's wrecker service and paint and body shop.


He was preceded in death by his parents: Ben and Gladys Young Shannon.


He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law: Donnie and Carolyn Shannon of the Annadel community.

Two sisters and one brother-in-law: Janie West also of the Annadel community, and Ida and Ruf Landrum of Indiana.

Two special friends: Larry Smarsh and Gary Rich. 

Along with a host of nieces and nephews, as well as many friends and loved ones.


The family will receive friends Thursday February 13, 2025, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Davis Funeral Home, Wartburg. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm with Rev. Ralph Nance officiating. Interment will follow in the Pilot Mt. cemetery.
