Barbara Kay Hensley Whittaker

Mrs. Barbara Kay Hensley Whittaker, age 79 of Rockwood, passed away Sunday April 5, 2015 at her home with her family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer. She was a member of Emory Gap Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband: Costello Alonzo Whittaker. One son: Dwayne Costello Whittaker. Her parents: Frank and Winnie Briggs Hensley. And one brother: Tommy Hensley. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law: Tyrone and Beverly Whittaker. Two daughters and sons-in-law: Robin and Chico Whittaker, Melinda and Terry Nance. Four grandchildren: Terry Nance, II, Tyler Whittaker, Kalen and Cody Whittaker. Three sisters: Peggy Gunter, Alma Joy Moore and Elizabeth Elmore and a host of other family, friends and loved ones. The family will receive friends Thursday April 9, 2015 from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at Davis Funeral Home, Harriman. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM with Rev. Willard Gunter officiating. Interment will follow in the Petros Cemetery.
