Mr. Alvin Wayne Harris, age 84 of Kingston, passed away Monday October 17, 2011 at The Bridge in Rockwood. Wayne served in the United States Navy and was a veteran of World War II. At age 50, he retired from TVA's Watts Bar Nuclear Plant and he and his wife Marie began to travel extensively. During one ten year period they lived in Hawaii for six months each year. They were both avid U.T. football fans and enjoyed traveling around the country to watch the Vols play in their various bowl appearances. He was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law: Vergil J. and Ida McClure Brown. A brother-in-law: Virgil Mac Brown. And his beloved pet: Gizmo. He is survived by the love of his life: Marie Brown Harris also a resident of The Bridge in Rockwood. A sister-in-law: Gale Brown. Brother-in-law: Alan Brown and his wife Joyce all of Kingston. Special nephew and niece: Steve Brown and Missy Brown Prince. And also: Jessica and Chanda Brown. In accordance with his wishes, Wayne will be cremated. Services will be announced at a later date.
