Albert Herbert "Pete" Poland Jr.

Mr. Albert "Pete" Poland Jr, age 81 of Harriman, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday March 22, 2015 at his home. Pete was a member of the Southgate Lodge #569 F& AM and Laurel Chapter 22 O.E.S. He retired from the Burlington Industries after 45 years of service. Pete was a member of Childs Memorial Baptist Church. He was ordained as a Deacon in 1959 and taught Sunday School for 45 years at Piney Grove Baptist and Walnut Hill Baptist Church's. Pete and his wife Virginia were avid Tennessee Walking Horse fans and attended the Tennessee Walking Horse Celebration in Shelbyville for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Albert and Olive Poland One brother: Kenneth Marvin Poland And one nephew: Scott Easter He is survived by his wife of 62 years: Virginia Thompson Poland. One son: Chris Poland and his wife Jana of Knoxville. One daughter: Teresa Pierce and her husband Glenn of Cookeville. Two granddaughters: Allison and Kayla Poland both of Knoxville. One sister: Geneva Easter and her husband Gene of Harriman Nieces and nephews: Karen Easter, Mike and Trish Easter, Kim Easter, Molly and Emily Easter, Daniel Easter, Lila Easter, Lee and Kyle Whitehead. And a host of other friends and loved ones. The family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home on Wednesday March 25, 2015 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The funeral service will follow at 8:00 PM with Bro. Ronnie Clark and Bro. Carl Armes officiating. Entombment will be Thursday March 26, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Roane Memorial Gardens.
